Come and Worship

It's not a new subject. We've been seeing this sort of thing for many years. Yes, I know musicians need to eat and need to get paid. Yes, we know lights and microphones and publicity cost quite a lot... All this is true.

However. That's such a transition, isn't it? However...receiving an e-mail today from a large church on the other side of Sunny, I felt my skin start crawling. We were invited to a night of worship with a great musical group. They're wonderful. I clicked on the button for more information.

I found a layout of the church's seating chart, color coded to show the price of tickets which ranged from $19.50 to $50.

Do you remember reading about Sister Knizek here at Grace Today? http://grace-gracetoday.blogspot.com/2008/06/loadin-up.html (I couldn't get the link button to work.) The post was titled Loadin' Up...

Well Grace, this is a first for me. I have NEVER heard of a church having a seating colour code for prices! You have totally stunned me!

So thankful God's grace and forgiveness are FREE!

He paid the price for me,
Joy

Wonder what Sister Knizek thinks about a seating chart? Thankful my seat in heaven is already reserved, without color and without code.

Good thoughts.

Color coded seats, kind of reminds me of highschool and labels for clothes. The have's and have nots. I would most definately be sitting in the have not color...which color is that.

We have concerts at our church (The Isaacs are coming in December), but we have never charged a fee. We receive a love offering at the concerts, and what people have given out of love has always been above and beyond what would have been collected by charging admission.

Check out my latest post, "I'm Ba-aack!" and (to all who read this) please forward my prayer request for my aunt to those on your prayer chains. Thanks!

I wonder how much someone would pray for our fold out chairs in the gym (where we meet). Do you think they'd pay less for the bleachers we pull out when we have a big crowd?
